This site is for the use of our Gillespie Family, related families and our friends.

We have established quite a clan in South Africa, what with close family friends and extended family, that it is not always easy to find out what everyone is up to. Hence this web site. If anyone has lost touch with our family, and would like to find out contact details, or would like to see what is going on in our lives, e-mail me for a password for the Private Area. Please state on your request what your link is to the Gillespie family.

Our Gillespie family is the group from Springs (Not something to brag about, but someone has to come from there.) We are now scattered around South Africa and even have a branch in England. Family associations through marriage or similar include the Mellow family, the McKenzie family, the Rennison family, the Jennings family, the Strydom family, the Giles family and the Daventry-Bull family. Close family friends, who are pretty much part of the family include too many to mention, without someone saying "I thought I was part of your family too" when we inadvertently miss out their name. (Or even worse - them saying "I really am not associated with you bunch of weirdos.")

WOW Photo of the Week:

Northern Lights Photo of the Year 2003 taken by Jouni Jussila, Oulu, Finland

Just for a second, the northern lights overhead changed its shape into a heavenly bird, just long enough for Mr Jussila to capture it on film.

Viewed directly from below, the northern lights shape captured here is called a corona, a shape which is very typical for active northern lights conditions. It changes very rapidly when it dances over the sky, shooting its rays of auroral light towards the ground.

For other WOW photos of the Northern Lights go to Nordly's Northern Lights
